***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Been harvesting Cherries off the tree for a week now, do you know how long it takes to pick cherries!!!!!! I am going to try and make wine out of them they are the more tart kind (not bing) But the tree has outdone itself this year I think it is a combo of the rain and it is the chickens favorite summer spot so much chicken poop.

Awesome enjoy! It looks like we'll get a good blackberry harvest this year too, been waiting.

I had so not so fresh cherries & threw them out the door this weekend. Had a rooster that appeared to be eating them whole. Was worried how may cherry pits are safe to eat, but he is still alive & well. Kass awesome that you are able to harvest your own fresh fruit. I want to try & make wine as soon as I am moved into the new house & have the space. Hope the insurance company is quick to settle on your car. DHs wreck was about 10 days ago & they put his check in the mail today. Could have been faster, but he couldn't find the title.

We had a good rain here this AM, or maybe storm is the better word. We have only watered the garden one time this yr. The sad part is the crazy weather has left us with not much of a garden. I was dreaming we were picking boxes full of tomatoes, sad thing is I have only picked a single eggplant!

teganoid- I wouldn't worry about keeping the garden & chickens a certain distance. My chickens play in the garden everyday, only issue is they like tomatoes. Thankfully I plant enough I can share with them.
