Silly chick!

Hey where did you get your brooders??? Do you know much about them? An old friend who used to breed various birds gave us 3 sets just like them (2 are one brand and 1 is a different brand but almost identical) and an angle iron frame that holds two of them on shelves. But the wiring is so old and cracked I won't let hubby set them up until we rewire them and we have no idea how to do that...

Fun pictures from Thunderbird Berry Farm in Broken Arrow:

(She is 5. If you have ever had a 5 year old girl- you know she dressed herself and insisted she could fix her own hair! *sigh*)

So proud of all her green berries! LOL

I inherited them. They work really well. That's awesome that someone gave them to you. They are pretty pricey if you buy them new! I have several and one quail brooder. The wiring shouldn't be to hard. It just wiring the thermostat to the heating unit.

the integrated bantams- gracy the cochin is in jail, wouldn't let the silkies roost- but staypuff the white silky acts like she was never separated- it was too cute

for the first time in my life i got whacked by allergies, so i guess i am in till it dries out some-

My hen who was limping last week is better, Praise the Lord. Their roost is not very high, but she probably just landed wrong. Again thanks for all the good advice. I'm looking for a few good hens not men.lol I need some good layers and I'm not working with a big budget (who is?) I'm in McClain Co., so any nearby locations would be preferable.

Its getting hot and muggy outside this morning while we are sorting cows and calves to take back to the Paden pasture now that the water gaps are repaired.

We weeded in the garden yesterday evening and pulled onions that had laid over so they could finish curing for storage. Going to make peas and new potatoes for dinner tonight.

Everyone enjoy your day and keep lots of water handy.

At least in McClain county - you need a trio to show chickens in 4-H.... But, our club does tons more than just livestock!

Interesting! I took my 5-year-old to her first official 4H meeting yesterday, but they were too busy making crafts for the Tulsa Free Fair in August for me to get a chance to ask about showing chickens. I went ahead and bought some Black/Blue Copper Maran and Wheaten Maran hatching eggs from Ebay - I figure even if I don't get a show bird, I'll get some good eggs!
