My peafowl are a year old this month and I know that they don't mature till they are 3 years old, However, Yesterday I got an egg from the hen, What are the odds that it's fertile? I'm guessing slim, I was really surprised to see the egg just laying in the bottom of the pen and no way is it another birds egg since the peacocks are in a pen of thier own and so far today no other egg...

do you have any roosters?

We have at least 3 hens that only have 1 eye. They all free range & thrive fine.

Elwood I have not had any luck hatching eggs from mature peafowl, but you never know could get lucky! Awesome that you got your first egg!!

Pop it in the 'bator and find out :)

I really like Revolution. I use it on both my dogs and cats and have never had a flea problem since - plus it protects against heart worms, too. It's a topical liquid. If you buy it from a vet it is crazy expensive, but I order mine through PetShed.com - that's the cheapest place I can find it.
I tried Trifexis on our dog last year and it made him sick, very lethargic for abaout a day. I did some internet research and a few dogs seem to be alergic to it. Now I use Avantics (sp?)

I finally have more chicks! Three of my Broodies hatched 6 Wheaten Ameraucanas and 6 Mille Fleur Cochin chicks this week plus Jack hatched 7 Wheaten Ameraucanas for me in his incubator.

I just have to single pair of peacocks, A recent dog attack left me with only 5 hens and a single roo and no egg production for a while

I bought 11 last year some made it right up to almost hatching before they died so I bought two peachicks they were hatched last June, I didn't know they would lay the first year.

I can't justify starting up my incubator for just the one egg, esp since I'm not getting any other eggs for now to go in with it, the reason most of the hens I have left survived the dog attack was they were the ones sitting on nests and I have two ducks sitting also but all of them are close to hatching so too late to place it under them
