Any interest in a blue-barred EE cockerel? He is Splash Ameraucana x Barred Rock, 2.5 weeks old. Wish I could keep him, he will be pretty.

Yes, Robin, I'd say get him out of there. A fairly easy way to catch snakes alive is with a package of that black plastic netting you drape over fruit trees to save the fruit from birds. Take it out of the package, string it out, crumple it somewhat, leaving several layers together, and string it along the outer edge of your pens. Snakes will often try to crawl through it, but they get stuck and can't get out. You can then do whatever you need to do with the snake. Do remember, if you are one who relocates (I used to), that snakes can find their way back from a fairly long distance, and a relocated snake becomes someone else's problem. I've also read (probably here) that you can put some kind of bait inside a minnow trap and the snake will crawl in after it and be unable to get out.

Nana, I lost 2 bantam boys to an owl, at least that's what I assumed it was when I read they just tear the heads off :-/ They had a coop to sleep in but chose to sleep on top of it instead. My favorites are all under roofs or inside buildings, which sounds sort of heartless but we've all got our favorites.

TimsHens, what is that gray hen in the middle? I love grays.

Robin, we've had a lot of those around this year, I hate em'. That's what killed that beautiful black Cochin chick I'd gotten from MJ. It did just what Betsy said-tried to swallow him and left him all slimey cuz it had to spit him out. They're what eats all the eggs around here, too. My Orloff girl was sitting on a bunch of eggs I'd marked and I was going to let her hatch them but the snake got them all. That nylon landscape netting works, they get caught up in it and can't get out.
I love Boaz :) You still have Jet and Ebony? I've given a lot of though to getting ahold of June and asking her about a micro pair. Channing isn't happy about the Chihuahua puppy I got. She's 4 mo old now and scared to death of him lol I just sat there and watched while he got his bluff in when she was tiny. I want her to always be leery of the chickens.

Jeansrie, oh he's a pretty one alright! Take a couple cute pictures of him next to interesting things and post him on Craigslist.

anyone know what this is? my thought is tiger striped salamander
That is a Tiger salamander we have quite a few different types of salamanders in Oklahoma the Tiger starts off small and aquatic like most of them do the drought has had to have been hard on them over the last few years, when I was a kid you could find them all over and most bait shops sold them, I'm not sure if they are considered endangered or protected but I heard they are recovering a bit like the Horned lizard (horned toad) between fishing with them or making pets out of them they were almost wiped out here in Oklahoma

So I have these two banty Ameracaunas....would there people really interested in these or are they going to be only a couple dollars worth to most people? If what everyone is saying is true than I apparently need to find a new home for my 2 bantams away from my barred rock roo. :(
