***OKIES in the BYC III ***

I was trying to edit out all the space at the bottom of the report and for some reason, I couldn't do it....so I posted chickie pictures instead.
I was really taken in by the report also.

Trying to edit and won't let me....

will post pictures of Dottie and her chicks instead...first you see them, then you don't

Now Mildred won't let us see hers but Bonnie Blue will

and then this broody hen says with intent stink eye..."They're MINE!" about her eggs

I so love broody hens - good thing because I have 14 Cochin girls.

Blanchard sale is this sat. I am goingg to Marrys swap meet an. sale some birds. if any one has any. feed sacks i would sure like to have thim.. An any one wonting to get rid of any. birds bring thhim by i will buy thim or take trade in's some times peep trade in roosters on hens..

Nearly lost this little gal today- i use gallon jugs with a hole cut in for them to drink out of, well, this silly lady decided to climb into it and then was stuck, i cut it apart to get her out- need to come up with another system that they won't spill

What color is she? One of the silkies that was given to us is a blue with brown on top of that and it has mostly brown on the head. The lady said it looked like it was going to be a blue silkie but it is 7 weeks old and looks like that this is a permanent look.

Nana, great pics!
We may go to the Blanchard auction for something to do Saturday. Somehow going out to eat or to a movie just don't sound very fun compared to a good old-fashioned Oklahoma chicken auction :-D Maybe I'll get lucky and someone will be selling straw for cheap.

We've been a backyard chicken family for about six months. My daughters adore their chickens. A lot. They talk about chickens. They hold their chickens. They draw chickens. They tell stories about their chickens. These are some beloved chickens. But, sadly, our Sonja Rojo (yes, this chicken has a first and last name) the Rhode Island Red is a rooster. And we live in town. Sonja needs a new home where roosters are not prohibited by city regulations. Sonja is a gorgeous bird- a nice dark rust brown with glossy green and a lovely green tail. He is now six months old and still very friendly and gets held daily. We would like to give him to someone who is looking for a show bird (again, he is lovely and very friendly) or a breeder. As he is a pet, we would prefer to give him to someone who will care for him and not put him in a pot. We live in the OKC metro area. Anyone interested in adopting Sonja Rojo?
