***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Shelbydog, do you know how I find the OK. livestock pages on Facebook? I've been told that there are several. One is ne Ok, I think. I'm pretty computer ignorant and have a very difficult time trying to use facebook.

are you putting acv in her water also? i have seen that work wonders on it

well, currently the big coop has 21, tripple layers on the windows, extra litter and a heater- just peeked and they look fine, the porch coop has 4, including OBrian and Shasta, with a heat lamp and litter and tripple wrapped with plastic, so i can keep a close watch on them- and then the guiea gang are on the porch as always- hopefully i have everything covered... i ususally like winter, but i worry about those fluffies
I put the acv in her water and she turns her nose (or uh, beak) up at it. Her comb is so shriveled. I honestly will be so surprised if she makes it. I made her and all my babies and adults oatmeal this afternoon. She didn't touch it at all. I read that they wont eat if they aren't hydrated. Either way she is an unhappy hen.

That moment when you realize that the rabbit emoticon seems to be... Twerking...

I LOL'd at that! HAHA! Too funny! I will never look at that rabbit the same again!

Definitely add me to the 'weird' group. But then most people here have that one figured out already. As I got older I realized it was severe introversion, which I've come to accept and appreciate. I'm literally never bored, I don't even understand the feeling when people talk about being 'bored'. Only extroverts get bored, introverts have the best of the whole world right inside their own heads. People always think I'm stuck-up (heard that all my life) or mad, abrupt or don't want to talk to them. Never true, it's just that my head is filled with so many different things to think about that I don't always even see other people.
I am actually one of those quiet people. Now that I am older if I am in a very small group I can hold a conversation very well. Put me in a large group and you wont hear me talk as much. In school I was labeled stuck up because I was just somewhat shy. I wouldn't approach people but if they approached me I was friendly. But I am pretty creative so I used that as my advantage when I was young. Now I am married with 3 young kids so the only place I really go is church to socialize. Once a month we go to my daughter's 4-H meeting if that counts. So socialization with people other than children is not very often for me. Its funny though. It use to bother me to have that awkward silence when I was with or around other people. Now I don't really care. I love the quote about "normal" on the drier. Its true! What really is normal anyway??? I know my little group of friends think that I am crazy now that I have messy dirty chickens. HA! Give them something to talk about! HAHAHA!

Are you sure it was the laying position? Could have been the submissive position for breeding. Several of my hens will do the submissive squat when I walk in their pen.....
Since she kept it warm...you could save it to incubate.... Enable, enable, enable!

Definitely not the submissive position... I've seen that before. When it first happened I thought "Oh, how sweet! She wants me to PET her!" I didn't know how wrong I was.

Oh, and that egg went straight from her butt to the bator. I figured she wanted me to have it for a reason, and I couldn't imagine that reason having anything to do with a skillet.

Bumpers is a two year old Tractor Supply egg layer, so I likely won't have many years with her. I need to keep some Bumpers genes around.

Okay, a follow up of my previous post with the sketch. :D

Sketch--

Flat Colors--

Shaded--

That whole thing took me around 3 and a half hours, which isn't bad, considering I was experimenting the whole way.

And it's a huge improvement from my last try, which was only a few days ago!

Last try--
