I would wait before you get another. Are they warm enough. They need to be under heat or have access to it when they feel chilled. 90 degrees. Country Hatchery has a very good reputation. I've never purchased from them before, but kkkkkkknow others that have. When I hatch in the winter, even though they have mama, I keep a heat lamp over the food and water so they aren't chilled when they go to eat and drink. Sometimes you just get one that was compromised in some way and just isn't as thrifty as the others. It just happens and they don't have to be ill. I'm not the best one for answering your post since I'm so new at this too. I'm sure you will get a lot of different responses that will help you more. With our beginning try at chickens we lost our first baby today (5 days old). :0( My girls were so sad - one just bawled! The chick was a bit quiet yesterday, but not lethargic, and this morning she was gone. Now I am afraid I am doing something wrong. All the others are fine and very energetic. Is this common in chickens? I have raised Guineas before and never lost one. (We lost an Australourpe and have a Barred Rock, Americauna, Brahma, and two Rhode Island Reds left.)
The girls really want to get another, but I have read they need to be quarantined, etc. Should I just wait to make sure the rest are OK? We got them from Country Hatchery in Wewoka.

Okay Okie peeps, I participate in a weekly photo challenge and this week the challenge was self portrait I have narrowed it down to 2 choices, but can only pick one to enter. This photo challenge group is just for fun, there is no "winner" or prize or anything like that. Help me decide which to submit. These were both taken today (in the challenge the pics have to be taken the week of the challenge)
