***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Last year we had a silent auction to raise money. I don't remember how much we made. We gave everything after expenses to the Newcastle Auction. If everyone brings a silent auction item, it can add up.
I like this idea. A parish we used to belong to does one every year to help pay for supplies for Sunday School. I have a copy of the silent bid sheets somewhere. I have a couple of tables we can use to put items on. I think I still have some plastic table covers, too.

It's so awesome my Wyandottes are hatching. Hint hint. LOL.

My 'Dottie' I got from you is such a good girl. I think there is a broody in her.

Speaking of SLW, there was 3 hens at the Coweta auction and there were super nice sized hens. I wouldn't having some like that.

That could well be a Langshan Pullet, the comb is far too small for a Langshan cockerel that age, still young and appears the tail is either in molt or very short. Langshan Cockerels and Cocks have very nice large tail sets, If it has a "bunny tail" it is not a Langshan but may be partially, The bird is definitely not Cochin as they should be as wide as tall and nearly round in appearance.
How many toes have feathers? Just the outer Toe? If so could be Langshan, Langshan Cross or Cochin Cross with some other large breed.

I have not witness this one crow but it goes full force on mating all the way down to attempting to get the cloacal kiss. I've got 3 roosters roaming with them so it can't be a hen taking on the rooster's job. But I'm not seeing pointy saddle feathers either. I think they are about 10 months old. It's a mystery!

Oh! I found pointy saddle feathers after all!

I have a black Langshan hen and a white langshan hen and this guy has fluffier legs.

Here are 3 other pullets I got from same person. Either she had a fence jumper or I grabbed cochins. 2 have bunnie-ish tails.

I know this is not a helpful picture but that is much as I could get her to cooperate.

I think you have cochin/langshan crosses. Here are my blue and black langshans. These pictures are about a month old one of them laid her first egg yesterday! I will try to get better pictures later this week.

I WILL be at POOPS if I have to drag all 4 kids there by myself! Either June date is good for me. I can't really help with the planning this year but will sign up to help bring a dish, etc once you have it started.

The lady I got them from still says they are langshans but they sure do have heavier feathered legs than my 2 adult hens. Oh well. I still think they are pretty. And if he's going to be a big boy and make big babies then he can stay. In the end I'll have mutts anyway, I just wanted to make sure I had pretty parent stock.

despite my bad luck my flock is a pretty darn good one. My sebbie gander breaks up rooster fights. My hens get along. My call ducks are adorable. Even though my drakes are sex machines they are leaving the ducklings alone.

I know I am waaaaaaaaaaaay late on this, but someone and I were discussing vit k and potassium a few weeks ago, I think it was @Kyzmette , but not 100% sure. Anyway I just got around to remembering to look it up and while the chemical letter for potassium is "k" it is not vit k. I would copy and paste the article buy byc won't let me copy and paste.

Need some help and hopefully you guys can give me some info! I got an order of silkie chicks from Cackle on Friday. 4 have already died and now two more are bleeding from their butts so I'm pretty sure it's cocci. Where do I get amprol? My hubby is at atwoods atm and he can't find any. The person helping him has called all feed stores around us and everyone is saying they don't have it. What else can I give them if I can't fine the amprol?
