***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Posting this for Rome24kr. If anyone is interested in some show quality RIR Bantam birds, or a Barred Rock pullet or a Partridge Rock pullet you might send him a PM to discuss details. He lives in Shawnee

I'm going to purchase his two Delaware Bantam hens that his daughter has shown.

Congratulations Kass on Rudy and his/her improved status

MJ glad to hear your Sussex is doing so good.
I'm glad to hear that u are getting some of your predator problems fixed. I'd be interested in the partridge rock pullet

On my way to Pryor, does anybody have the address of the swap? I can't access the fb page for some reason.

Anybody have requests?
Female goose, no mate. It'scruel to take them from their mates. Good price. Sebatopol would be too high. Do u still have my # I lost my phone but will pm u hubbys.. Floyd is doing great. What a sweetheart.

Les, here's the Malay.
(edited to add-I'd like to place the Malay 1st becuz he's so big and needs more room than a 10x10 pen. If I can place him I'd like to keep the Asil mix.

I must of quoted the wrong post, but if anyone doesn't want the two female mixed games, I would. I need to check all my expenses first this month I've gone a little crazy.
I'm going to go meet a LGD today and if he's what I want bring him home. 5/8 antolian and 3/8 pyrenees. Been guarding goats and does wll w/ chickens. Just a year old. I don't know if I really need him but since My pyrenees is too old to be out and she lost her side kick last month, she has no desire anymore. I don't know how long she will mourn. My bull mastiff is great w/ chickens but he's never spent a night outside and he's 8, the average lifespan is 8 or 9.
Now for some help. I have ahen who only hatched three eggs, my worst hatch ever. Anyway, we went ot Orschlens and they had sexed pullets. Bright idea, get three and give them to her. I put them under her overnight, and she did good most of the next day w/ them. Toward feeding time I checked and she was pecking them and running them away from her. The first hen I've ever had to reject any. So I sent Glenn to Orschlens to get 3 more chicks, so I could put at least 6 together in the tote. All brooders are taken up at this time.

One of them has been constipated, so yesterday, I soaked her and cleaned her little bum. Made a little mash w/ olive oil which she hasn't touched. Al; the other have though. This morning same thing, hard poo stuck to her, so I soaked her again and put mineral oil on her. I thought that I have been really gentle but she looks prolasped to me. She finally did poop when I was taking pictures to put on here. I've been bawling for the last hour, because I'm so stupid I can't even work the camera right. It has too many gadgets on it for me. Monday, I'll stop by Robins and she can give me lessons on picture taking. Anyway, I haven't done any research yet. but this is the best I could do w/ pics. Hubby said to rub some hemroid cream on her and see if that would help. Something so tiny, I would have no idea how to help.

Get some sugar water in him to give energy. Then Get some yogurt with live cultures mix with warm water and some crumbles and make a hot cereal. Also hard boil an egg and crumble the yolk and feed that too. This will get their gut working. This is what I do and it works excellently!

So, after yalls great advice on adding having a separate coop for the silkies so the Big Girls stop picking on them... we extended the coop with a separate area for the Silkies. They do not have access to each other.

New question: 3/3 are laying, but only 2/3 are laying in the nesting box. We have golf balls in the box and we've also left some eggs in there for a day or two for her to get the idea, but this morning, there was an egg, on the floor of the coop. I went back out to find it later and it had been buried from all their scratching. So my question is, should I just give it time and hope that she eventually lays in one of the boxes like the other girls? or is there something else I should be doing?

Even if you have 100 nest boxes and two hens they will fight over the same nest box. Could be that when the hen wants to lay the favorite box is occupied so she just lays on the floor. Some hens have favorite spots besides the nest boxes to lay in and it could be a separate hen doing it each time. Really hard to tell why a hen doesn't lay with the others. In time she will probably start laying in the box.

@hotcurltr. There are some female geese here one is $50, appears to be pilgrim crosses but I don't have anything to transport them.
It's probablt to late now, but that's ok. Thanks for letting me know.. Are u in Pryor too? I don't mind paying 50 as long as it is positively female and isn't old or has genetic problems such as angel wing(angel wing isn't always genetic, sometimes it's from poor nutrition or too much protein.) etc. If I knew nu were out and about I would have sent u my phone # too. Hope you're having a good day. Getting ready to go to Bixby to see if the LGD will work for me and if so, bring him home.
