***OKIES in the BYC III ***

I have the idea and can't decide how to bulid the nesting box and how to put the ply wood up. I have no construction skills and neither does my girlfriend. I feel we did awesome. I'm not sure how to have easy access to the coop portion to be able to clean it properly. Plus I want to put a nesting box towards the back with a hinged door for easy access to the eggs. I have all these great ideas but have no clue how to execute those.

You might try a general search for a-frame type chicken coops that should bring up quite a few different designs.

put a hinged back wall on the nesting boxes so you can get in from behind to clean and collect eggs.

Quote: I go there wayyy to much, but I do try to avoid it. There can be some pretty horrible art on there at times, so I try to avoid that. But I am on a website called Weasyl, and it is, so far, a pretty helpful community. :3

I agree with you on deviant art, haven't heard of weasyl, have you been to Wet Canvas? They are real helpful there too.

betsy, i feel fortunate to have had them, they are wonderful birds, i am stretched pretty thin right now, and want good homes for them, i just have taken on way too much for one person...sigh

The war is on, the enemy fired the first shot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Found my first squash bug today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OMG I hate those things with a purple SCREAMING passion! Cucumber beetles are foul, but squash bugs make this hippie chick want to drown a whole garden in kerosene and toss a match!

I've gotten some relief from them using a little lye soap dissolved in water and misted on to the main plant. What do you do?

Anyone with suggestions please tell. I can't believe that I can't grow zuccini and other summer squash. I grew poolball squash in CA that I sliced lite tomatoes and grilled with olive oil and herbs.
DE sprinkled around strawberries gets rid of pillbugs. Would it work for squash bugs?

I water at the base of the plant have a few chickens w/ me when the bugs run up the plant to escape the water (very hydrophobic) the chickens eat them.
