Robin check for the tailbone. in a rumples breed it is absent. The way this chick is rounded off I would say it's rumpless.

i will have to check, they finally discovered how to eat after some frustration...LOL!

Thanks everyone, I am making it and the other chicken blocks I posted for a swap here on byc. Nana, I love the green border idea. It was challenging trying to figure out how to draw it so it looked like a chicken, but still could be sewn by paper piecing techniques.

I haven't been able to find liquid Sulmet around here for a while. I have been using a powder form.
I had a bunch of chicks catch Cocci. right as I was moving them out to the grow-out pen. They spent the night in the coop and when I opened it in the morning there was bloody stool everywhere. They hadn't had water since the night before so they drank the treated water right down. I only lost 3 out of 24.

And.......that'd be why I don't even bother with Corid. Corid doesn't cover near as many strains as Sulmet. I just don't trust it.
Robin, is he rumpless? I can't tell. He's a beautiful color.

My local feed store ordered it- Farmers Co-op in Coweta.

@Kyzmette I think Dusti hit the nail on the head. I have been having the same problem here- Cocci symptoms in the brooder but Corrid is doing very little I just switched to Sulmet 2 days ago I've lost two more but the rest are looking better. My discovery was by accident (I was out of Corrid and the Sulmet I asked about happened to come in when I went in for more) but I think that's why it is working!

He's part of the pair from Bardies (her picture)
and since I can't keep him I'm wanting to find him a home. I will pick them up Saturday morning (tentatively) and can drop him off to someone close to Newcastle or Norman. Let me know, he's free if you promise to love him. He would make beautiful babies!

Mine was a little backwards from that. My babies didn't get cocci until they got outside, which really threw me for a loop. I kept thinking they had some weird, exotic disease, and it never occurred to me that the older birds might have had it. So I kept treating the babies and they were getting worse and worse and I was just feeling HELPLESS! It wouldn't surprise me at all if some of the chicks being hatched nowadays were carrying the Corid-resistant bacteria more frequently, since Corid is given at the drop of a hat and half the nation's chicken people use medicated chick feed.
