also, THE POOP is a cold fertilizer, so you don't need to compost or age it at all.Yes I have read that about Texas A&M and the altex are pink eyed whites from New Zealand White stock I believe. I wouldn't choose a pew for a pet though, I think one of the ugliest rabbits out there, but probably good for meat since you wouldn't have the cute factor to deal with. The other thing to think about w/ breeding for meat harvest, is the potential for pelt harvest. at $2-10 (depending on breed and age) per pelt you can defray some or all of your feed costs.


(plus bunny pee is NOT my favorite smell) we love him lots but haven't come up with a good housing system for him. Mostly he lives in a cage with an hour of run around time a day. I'd love to know if anyone else raises non heat tolerant rabbits and how they do it?
