Hello DGibson. Three of the Delaware hens have gone broody and another one is mothering a new baby chick.
Robyn...neosporin...the plain...should be okay. So would zinc oxide or desinix (sp) for diaper rash. Is that a liquid trapped in the vent...it could be acidic?
Diana @hotcurltr is having her graft surgery today. She has been having trouble with her computer since Microsoft no longer services XP versions. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers.
Okay remember me saying our bushel of cucumber, bushel of canner tomato and 12 pounds of jalepeno order came in...we'll we just finished the Sweet Sour pickles. So here is the canning list for the past few days:
15 quarts of Jalepeno Relish, 15 quarts of Soup Starter, 15 quarts of whole Sweet Sour Pickles, 14 pints of Bread and Butter slices, and the Kosher Dills...5 quarts slices, 7 quarts of spears and 4 half gallon jars of whole. Our daughters and their families are going to be so happy! Still have a few tomatoes left to make juice.
Temperatures in the incubators are holding nicely since I added the digital temperature/humidity thermometers. My hatch rates have really been lower this year ....down from years past. You simply can't trust those little stick thermometers any more that come with the incubator. I purchased the digitalis in the paint section at
Walmart for about $9 each....wish I had known about them earlier this year. I think the lower temperatures may have also caused the malposition problem I was having.
