Yea I was thinking your seramas would be. Too cute and tiny to risk it! She's absolutely adorable and I hope you can figure out whats going on. Honestly Id put coconut oil down there. Its really soothing and safe and is antibacterial. I figure it can't hurt to try until someone gives a better answer

I don't know. I don't have much experience with neosporin. Hopefully someone else will chime in!

Hello DGibson. Three of the Delaware hens have gone broody and another one is mothering a new baby chick.

Robyn...neosporin...the plain...should be okay. So would zinc oxide or desinix (sp) for diaper rash. Is that a liquid trapped in the vent...it could be acidic?

Diana @hotcurltr is having her graft surgery today. She has been having trouble with her computer since Microsoft no longer services XP versions. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers.

Okay remember me saying our bushel of cucumber, bushel of canner tomato and 12 pounds of jalepeno order came in...we'll we just finished the Sweet Sour pickles. So here is the canning list for the past few days:
15 quarts of Jalepeno Relish, 15 quarts of Soup Starter, 15 quarts of whole Sweet Sour Pickles, 14 pints of Bread and Butter slices, and the Kosher Dills...5 quarts slices, 7 quarts of spears and 4 half gallon jars of whole. Our daughters and their families are going to be so happy! Still have a few tomatoes left to make juice.

Temperatures in the incubators are holding nicely since I added the digital temperature/humidity thermometers. My hatch rates have really been lower this year ....down from years past. You simply can't trust those little stick thermometers any more that come with the incubator. I purchased the digitalis in the paint section at Walmart for about $9 each....wish I had known about them earlier this year. I think the lower temperatures may have also caused the malposition problem I was having.

@ashtree So far, I have 2 Barnevelders (one splash and one blue/black) and 1 Speckled Sussex. Yay!! I am super excited about the Barnevelders. There's also a Gold-laced Wyandotte still in shell. It's taking it's own sweet time.

When they're all dry and fluffy, I'll post pics!

The feathers are growing back in so whatever irritation it was looks to be resolving itself. My vote is Neosporin also. Rhonda, congrats Nana, you amaze me. That's a LOT of food!

Question about spiders....
Okay so I moved into a new house and I have been getting a few small spiders and then a few nice sized grass/wolf spiders. However I went out to the garage (their man cave apparently) and saw one dead and it was HUGE. Now I know it isn't a tarantula so that is knocked off the list. However since it is dead it is hard to tell. I didn't get a close look as I am now bombing(fumigating) the garage. It was brown and one leg was extended which seemed to be 2-2 1/2" inches long. The head part of the body was about as big as my finger. I just killed a wolf spider earlier but this one is about 2 or 3x the size. I can try and get pics later after the bomb is done.


Any ideas on what it is?
