***OKIES in the BYC III ***

well, i have some of old totes, hd one girl that adored a card-board box, and they seem to like dog carriers too- get a tote, cut a hole in the side, pop the top on, add shavings and they love it- Sad news here, lost my little Elliot over nite, didn't have him long but he sure left a hole in my heart
Well gosh darnit, I know you fall in love with every one of your featherbabies, so it doesn't matter how long you had him. My condolences. I had a predator attack today, and I'm just livid with myself. Dusti loaned me her game cams and I had them both trained on the pen, but I KNEW the attacks were happening in the treeline, and I didn't get any of it captured. Over the last two months I've lost five of my little juveniles, one of my BBB girls, two Minorca pullets, and a CL pullet. Today I found a strewn pile of white feathers and a trail of gray feathers leading into a gully and another pile. My snow white guinea and a pretty, sweet natured EE girl, one of my Floyd girls, are gone. I also have a bloodied and de-feathered BBB boy and my sweet blue red English Orp pullet, Cuddles, is missing feathers and skin. I moved one of the cameras. I think hawks have been to blame for the littlest losses, but the others really worry me. I think it's possibly a coyote, and if it is, it's coming out right behind my house while the dogs are napping in front. I'm going to have to figure out how to trap whatever it is without hurting my dogs.

can you tie the dogs out back or a temporary pen so they will give you an alarm??

when we had that kind of attack it was a fox family-

Making tshirt yarn for knitting some Christmas gifts. As if I needed another hobby ... lol.

Our birds are in an enclosed pen, top, sides, eveything but there is a gap in the top netting near the barn. Five of my birds insist on getting out but they won't put themselves back in. None of the others even attempt to get out so I'm rather annoyed with these five. They're new egg layers, too so when they're out I'm not getting their eggs and I'm afraid if they got out of the fence our neighbors would kill them. So, I guess tomorrow we'll be clipping wings. I'm going to have a few disgruntled ladies.

How is she doing tonight?  I really think if she makes it to tomorrow it's just a matter of healing and she'll be all right!

She is still with us! She seems really strong this morning. Is there something I should watch for to see if I should out her on an oral antibiotic??
