Making tshirt yarn for knitting some Christmas gifts. As if I needed another hobby ... lol.
Our birds are in an enclosed pen, top, sides, eveything but there is a gap in the top netting near the barn. Five of my birds insist on getting out but they won't put themselves back in. None of the others even attempt to get out so I'm rather annoyed with these five. They're new egg layers, too so when they're out I'm not getting their eggs and I'm afraid if they got out of the fence our neighbors would kill them. So, I guess tomorrow we'll be clipping wings. I'm going to have a few disgruntled ladies.
My birds free range within a chain link fence and expanded back yard that has cows in it. They have taken to coming out to the front through the gate. Wasn't so bad when it was just one, but now there are 6 or so of them that regularly do this. They hang out on the front porch and eat the cats food. Standing near the eating cat until the cat is intimidated and leaves. I tried closing the gap with chicken wire - but that only stopped them for about 15 min. Not sure how they are coming through now. Good thing that most of the neighborhood dogs have been good and kept where they belong over the last few months!
