We got the corgi yesterday, she's doing great - is actually at least 2 years old but has been in at least 4 previous homes based on her old tags. Enid, then Yukon, then Blanchard, then Bridgecreek area... She is doing GREAT! Over 50 ticks came off just this morning. Who knows how many came off during her bath yesterday.

Sad news though - something got into my juvie pen and killed the seven paint silkie youngsters. It left the solid white one, barred rock baby and momma silkie. Mixed bag there.... Argh! More patching apparently needs to be done.

Glad the doggie is working out.

Coral count me in on a processing day. I was going to pay to have them processed for us but my husband just got laid off so I will be doing them myself. I have a turkey fryer I usually use as a scalder- I can bring it if you think it will work?

Yes. Bring the turkey fryer. It will come to temperature faster than a dutch oven on my stove top. Does it plug in? Could we use it outside set up on a table with an extension cord?

Coral, do you have any preferences on the male other then an sc carrier? (dark feathers, light feathers, fm skin, big or small bow tie etc...) Still not 100% sure what exactly I have in male sc carriers, but will give me an idea of who to rule out when I can get me, Gary and an evening (after dark) to give all the legs a once over.

Riker has good personality he is full grown, he is darker feathered though. He looks very, very rough right now b/c of Shakespear. I am pretty sure he is my adult male carrier, but I will double check on that.

Personality is more important to me than the color of his feathers. I've got three lovely NN hens right now, and they won't look twice at any of my roosters. They were devoted to Hercule.

Riker is very protective of the hens, not a people aggressive bone in his body, but like to come and hang out w/ me when I'm doing stuff in the chickens area, he will be very pretty to look at when Shakespear isn't harassing him. He carries fm and mottled gene. He has a large bow tie (so Nana). I will just have to check on the scsc gene. I KNOW one is a carrier since I keep hatching naked chicks, and I remember being convinced that Shakespear was not a carrier.

MJ, is the flesh of the plum red or purple? I have a burgundy leafed plum that has a round red fruit. Roger eats them before they are fully ripe

so I don't know how sweet they are. My grandmother had one with an oval shaped plum that made the best purple plum jelly. I haven't been able to find a tree like it anywhere.

These have red flesh and are quite sweet. I have never seen purple fleshed plums. Purple plum jelly would be wonderful.

It's the kind that plugs up to a propane tank, with a big metal pot that just sits on top. It's meant to be used outside. I will bring my propane tank. It should be mostly full.

I've been harvesting from the garden, it is doing well except for the squash and okra, I need to plant more of each of those.  The garden is much smaller this year, I hope to expand it next year, love the raised beds they are working out so well.

I planted out 8 gogi berry plants just before "Bill" hit several looked really bad, but I have 5 still green and looking like they will make it.  I sure hope they do, they looked so pretty when the lady and I exchanged plants.  The 3 passion vine (from seeds from miohippus) are finally out and in the ground, they are looking good.  @miohippus
 do I have to cut the dead vines back in the fall or will they grow out new from the dead looking vines?

I'm not sure sorry, they just grow wild here on my property I have never tried to cultivate them, they just do their own thing so I would guess no
