***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Sound like pretty smart birds!
At the show i bought two White Wyandotte hens from Larry Dye. One sat in my lap all the way home. The other was in the carrier.
Got to see Larry Dye, Carl Jarvis and Joe Gigax...some how missed Mary Jo. Couldnt find Betsy, but noticed all her sale pens were empty. Looked for Don Gibson but never found him.

When i was feeding the chickens this morning, i noticed that the two broodies had moved their hatchli gs from the nest box to the floor. There were still three eggs in the nest and two were pipped. I put them in the incubator and they warmed up and hatched. Ill see if the two moms will take the babies in the morning when i get home from babysitting with the grandsons.

I need to get some pics, but probably won't be able until mid week.

NanaKat, saw you at the show but never did get a chance to talk to you.
I saw Don Gibson at around 9:30 and he was heading to a Coon Dog show across OKC.
I go a Silkie and a Showgirl from Betsy, I cannot wait til Spring. I want to clean and set up my incubator now!
Rebecca, Muesky, got some wonderful LF Black Cochins cockerels. She has about 14 black females, and 5 or 6 each of Blues and Splash girls too. My Blue rooster from NanaKat was pretty lonely with all those girls. Now he has reinforcements.
I viewed the row of Silkies and bantam Cochins so many times so many beautiful and fluffy birds.

Just Joined the BYC a few days ago and it was recommend that I throw a shout-out to all neighbors. So...Howdy Ya'll.

I'm really excited to be here, Just getting started with raising chickens, My first set of hens will be here in May and I have started building their new home. I'm sure I will have lots of questions for you guys, so thanks in advance for all your support.

That's great news. I hope he keeps getting stronger.

I finally took a few pictures of my hatch. Five in the group: Two black and three chipmunk brown. They're shy, and they really didn't like the flash.

The rain flooded the grassy area in my juvenile pen, and the silly stinkers didn't know enough to stay out of the rain, mud, and muck, so I moved the group into an over-sized dog crate until the weather clears. These are all crosses. I was delighted to see a lot of blue feathering. Looks like the Cream Brabanter rooster is the most active in my flock at present: lots of crests and wide nostrils. Sheldon isn't crested, but he's definitely half Brabanter.
