Did 750 miles today, Shawnee to Gallup,NM. Same amount tomorrow and I'm there. If it weren't for my wife's yorky I could have done more. He's got a bladder the size off a marble!

I probably made that trip a dozen times during the move. I settled on Gallup as the rest stop because it makes the two days about even as far as driving. I did the one day drive by myself once. That probably ranks as the stupidest thing I've ever done driving.

When I drive to Michigan and back I always stop at the same Red Roof Inn in West Saint Lewis; not far off the freeway, clean, quiet, and free for my dog to stay too.
Norah is a good co-pilot.

There's a Holiday Inn around the 44/270 junction that is my stop when going back and forth from Michigan. I only have the dogs with me when I'm in the RV and that's a 3 or 4 day drive. Coming from San Diego last winter I hit 2 winter storms; that trip took 5 days.

I wouldn't mind a 3-4 day drive if I could sleep in my own bed, even an RV bed.
