Meepmeep! I love that! Sorry to hear you lost 3 of your birds. You must have a very big heart to take care of special-needs animals.

hey guys- am trying to locate some of my old pics uploaded to this thread, is there a way to search names or photos or something like the old format?

yes nana we are watching the storms now- are you doing ok?

Yay! One of my hens is laying again. Probably the only one that isn't visibly molting. I caught her in the nestbox a couple of times, but she bolted when I lifted the lid. Is it common for Orpingtons to lose a lot of feathers and still not be bald? Why do some hens keep laying while they molt and some do not?

We did okay...under two inches. Got a light frost this morning. Going to have to strip the garden!
As for photos, they are in threads, but the transition to the new format erased many. You might try to load a photo to a private message to someone and see if your archive on here pops up....

Great girl. Orpingtons and Cochins don't go bald too many feathers. They seem to molt more slowly too. I've had a few hen's that look buck naked in molt that still lay. They get some calcium from feed and I offer greens when they are molting.
