Well we lost a duck hen in the storm last night- we have a lonely boy- so either i need some duck hens or he needs a home with a duck flock, its been a heck of a weird summer

Hello from OKC! I am new to BYC *and* the chicken-raising life. I now have 12 BLRW chicks (<1 week to 7 weeks old), two silkie chicks and am getting some more silkie hatchlings this weekend. I have definitely been bit by the bug!

he is a swedish harlequin, just a mutt lol poor fella

I am having issues with my oldest gen. She is about 7 weeks old. She is being lethargic not active at all and when I looked at her she had what seemed to be an air bubble on her chest. Please help.

Can you describe the air bubble in more detail or post a photo?
Is her crop full or emptying?

I did some research and the air bubble is her crop and it is full. I secluded her and gave her nothing but grit and Apple cider vinegar with water

yea he seems to be doing ok, he was raised by a silkie, so i think at times he thinks he is a chicken, so his pen is inside the run and seems to be adjusting

I did some research and the air bubble is her crop. I secluded her and gave her nothing but grit and Apple cider vinegar and water.

Hopefully this has helped her crop to empty.
Is she improving? Or are you smelling any thing sour on her breath?
