Hey Mike, if in your travels you come across 2 to 4 real leggy standard modern Hens, I would be interested in some. Had a great time visiting with you at Fletcher, wish I was closer down your country, we have a lot in common and seem to know some of the same old people and hang outs.

Dont know much about chicken genetics, but in pigeons lav. is milky blue is this same for chickens. Also Black is spread blue. So there is more varibals at play than meet the eye. Without knowing the background it would be hard to say.

I'm not sure where they got the lav. gene from but when people knowledgable about the Orpingtons they ask what generation they are. I am wondreing if I breed them with my blues and cull if the type would improve and still keep the lavender color?
