***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Thanks, PnBs.

I thought that the 113 auction was already on that list...but I didn't see it. I coulda swore I submitted it when I first joined this site.

The 113 auction is on Highway 113, north of mcalester, like you're going to Indianola. Next to Mr. Ds gas station, the 1st gas station you come to on your left.

It's held on every Tuesday evening, starting at 5.30pm.

It's a bit of everything auction, but its usually good for some critters too. Most my bantams come from there. Lately there's been a metric ton of quail and rabbits.

Critters are the last thing to be auctioned so you don't have to be there right up at 5.30. But they usually have a lot of farm stuff there.

The wyandotte chick died after midnight.
There were no real respiratory indications other than mouth breathing which was a little labored...no gasping, wheezing, etc. Poops were normal. The chick was weak and almost lifeless when found. It was not fat and I could feel the keel bone...the crop was not full or normal. Feathering and size were normal for its age of one month. It was active at noon.

I'm leaning towards Six's suggestion that perhaps something was lodged in the throat although I couldn't feel anything.

I changed the litter in that pen with clean wood shavings (horse bedding) a couple of days ago. I also started introducing this pen to greens and scratch.....could the scratch have been an issue with the new wood shavings.....looking for answers which may not be there......

Will be keeping an eye on the rest of these one month old babies like a hawk....

Edited to add: Thanks again to NNBreeder and Sixshooter for helping me care for the baby.

BTW there was a lady at the Harrah auction this evening, who indicated that she has been going to the Meeker auction and that they have some birds there.

Morning friends, not feeling 100% so im doing something unusual for me and staying home from work for a day. Wife talked me into it as I was pulling out the driveway, she didnt have much convincing to do though. She's my better half so I better listen to her eh.

Sorry you're not feeling well Ronnie. I'm glad your wife separated you from the flock and is keeping you quiet today. I hope you get better soon.

Hi Bill! I hope no one was injured when you unloaded your outfit after POOPS. I enjoyed meeting and chatting with you last Saturday!
