***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Hey, Stimp. I crashed right after I posted that so missed yours. It is about 3 or 4 miles north of Cyril off SH 8. Gonna post pics later.

If you are interested I can pm the details.

Buster,

I was asking for a friend. If she is still interested, I'll let you know. Thanks.

Yes it really can. A feed can have the same basic formulation as another on the market but the difference it can make in flock health is huge.

The 15% layer is formulated for caged layers that get no excercise, that is why free range birds lay better and have better quality eggs, they get a more balanced diet then the caged birds do. Many that keep birds cooped will add their own ingrediants to suppliment the layer feed.

City - I left at around 10:00 with a pair of Khaki Campbells in my truck, and the birds you brought me got to ride home as well. The pair of Khaki's are walking around like celebrities. They have been the most vocal in the duck flock since I brought them back. I wish I knew what they were saying. If I were a fly on the wall.... they'd eat me. But, if I spoke duckeneese, I'd probably find out what a slow driver I am, that John Denver isn't their first choice for road-trip music, and that hay in the travel cage is nice, but riding in the cab would be better next time. So far Becky is eating and drinking, but she's not a happy girl. She wolfed some tuna but ignored the yogurt. Maybe she was already full. The Ameraucanas boys are calling names at the RIR cockerels in the pen across from theirs. I'm going to pick out their ladies over the next couple of weeks and then rearrange some birds. Maybe they'll settle down and stop yelling once they have their own space established.

I meant the sister compliment to be the other way around. I'd left the house in such a rush that I looked like a tornado dressed me Saturday morning. No makeup, no hair clips... but I had showered. Watching my regulars, I could tell they were asking themselves if we were related. That question I saw in their faces, that thought that we were siblings, made me feel like I was almost presentable. You remind me oooodles of my baby sister who lives in Florida. Her son, Zach, is the closest thing I've seen to a child prodigy. I was hoping they'd visit this summer, but it looks like the visit will be postponed until his school winter break.

You have found a wonderful group of folks who would really like to help you expand your flock

Disclaimer: Some of us are addicted to hatching eggs, attending poultry auctions and otherwise acquiring poultry. Since addicts tend to be enablers, we may try to "assist"* you in the growth of your flock, until you suddenly have more chickens than you ever dreamed possible and are building more pens.

*"assist" and "enable" may be used interchangebly in this sentence

Here's a pic of my legs on the mend. Swelling is almost totally gone, and just sore, not painful anymore. Lesson learned cardiac monitors good for the heart, not the legs!!! lol
