Congrats to you and grace's dad. Mine are due Friday or sat. I am sooo excites I can hardly wait!

I had 4 hens hatch clutches with in the last two weeks. The wait way nearly unbearable. Luckily they didn't get mean when I cheked under them everyday. I'm glad I let them hatch the eggs. It is so fun to watch them tuck them under themselves, direct them to the food and water and scold them fro running off. I now have a new appreciation for the phrase, "take someone under one's wing".

Too cute I can't wait! Will have to check out your mommas tomorrow. I move momma off every day to make sure she doesn't have extra eggs. She does fine with me doing that

We got a downpour of rain, but fortunately no hail.

I went to check on some Muscovey ducklings that hatched today, since Jaxon put them in a cage so they couldn't go in and out of the chain link fence that surrounds the parent's pen. I was concerned that they might have gotten super wet and chilled. Fortunately, Dean added a roof to the cage between the time Jaxon showed them to me this evening and the time the storm came through so they are fine. I am not worried about any chicks with mamas, since the mama will keep them warm and dry. There was one hen with at least 6 chicks hatched this morning. I had intended to get her out of the nest box with her peeps this evening, but since it is cooler temps this evening I am confident that the chicks will stay beneath her until at least tomorrow, rather than falling out of the nest box.

I think the hill I live on the east side of splits a lot of weather and makes it go around me LOL I guess I need to do more of those "Taunting the weather" kinds of things like water the weeds, wash the truck, leave the windows open, as well as trying the rain dance again

Hopefully, any tornadoes will also "go around" your property as well.
In the "taunting the weather" category, you forgot: move teenage chicks out of a covered location to the main coop

Good Morning everyone! It was raining when I went to sleep last night, don't know if it did anything other than that. Sure was glad for the rain, we need it.
I got another coop cleaned out & now have two left that I should be able to get done tonight. It was alot cooler last night but I was sore. Hope everyone
has a great day.
