Good evening. Just checking in.

Got a muskovey and a buff guinea sharing an extra large
Nest of about 40-50 duck and guinea eggs...

Hope everyone is staying cool

Joe - Should I bring the little stinker with me, or do you have some silkies there to use as visual aids?

Hot weather has been bringing the snakes out. That's wrong. This hot weather has been chasing the snakes into the shady spots near my chicken pens. It's creeping me out. I hate rounding a corner and having a stick stand up on end right in front of me. I know they are frightened and just reacting to being startled, but dad gum it they're adding gray hairs to my head.

Went to Lowe's today for more bird netting (silly snakes keep getting tangled up in it). I was confused for an employee (even though I wasn't wearing the blue vest thingy or a name tag) and ended up showing an elderly couple where to find the playground sand. Apparently they have a lot of cats. They've installed plastic window boxes behind their shrubs and flowers near their front porch. The cats use the sand in the plastic boxes now instead if digging up the flowers and messing in the planters. It's amazing how much a perfect stranger will tell you about his or her life when you ask a simple questions like, "Why do you need two hundred pounds of playground sand?"

Watered and weeded several garden beds, and planted some more beans, both bush bean (one of them was the adzukis) tried to protect my purple beans from that satanic rabbit, don't know if any will survive the assault, can't protect the adzukis so I planted more where I could protect them better.
