***OKIES in the BYC III ***

sixshooter, sorry to hear about your leg. I know all to well about having to use this machine for entertainment while healing. Hope it goes well and the healing goes good.

Can I join the Okies in the BYC? I live in NW Arkansas, but am an original okie, and
live in Fort Smith, which is right on the border of Oklahoma. I drive through Dora
bottoms every morning on my way to work. Can I join?

Welcome! Of course you can join. Okie chicken folk extend hospitality to anyone who loves chickens. We have quite a few out-of-state okies.

Back when I was around 14 years old I got my first pure bred bantams. I got a pair of RIR bantamsn from a Lee Johnson in Arapaho. I have had bantams almost ever since then, and have always wanted some more of the RIRs but never found any I liked. I picked up a pair at Blanchard Sat. night. I think they are very nice quality and hope to start raising some out of them. Here is the rooster.

Hope all is well with you all... kids and i are still keeping busy with homestead chores, bedroom project and summer home school.. Four more days until two of my brothers come out.. Cant wait... to see my nephew and my sister in love.. The only gripe.. but totally understand is the now implemented burn ban.. so no fireworks this year for us

although I am quite certain the horses and goat are relieved...

Had to water part of the pasture today because its SO CRISPY I am afraid it would catch fire by the simplist spark of anything.

Sixshooter...did your doctor tell you how much therapy you would be doing? With knee replacement I was in therapy for many months at 3 sessions a week and then 2 sessions a week for a while. Really important that you do the exercises they teach you for home.

It will be nice to have you around more to visit with a lot more over the next several months.
