***OKIES in the BYC III ***

michiele - I love your chicken coop! It's wonderful. The girls look great. If any of them turn our to be boys, please PM me and we'll swap him for a her. I've had several Ameraucanas fool me this season. I have one who is just starting to crow, but he hasn't got a single pointy saddle feather on him.

I have been wondering about the blue one. If he and the white one are the same age, he definitely has more tail coming out... The white one doesn't have any tail feathers standing up yet, but the blue one does. Is there anything else to look for. Well, other than the loud crowing:)

Somewhere in between would be okay but not that!!!!

Doing good this morning got all my chores done early & made it to work! I am ready for the weekend.

Carl is there an easy way to explain the amount of electric the wind generator makes & does it somehow store it or how does that work......I need a better understanding & don't use big words. LOL.

It is not a recognized color. There is s genetic term that is used but I can't remember it. I have an EE roo that is almost the same color but with les red and little more blue.
It is definitely not MIlle Fluer, Tolbunt or a recognized spangle.
Just call him pretty and you will have it covered.

I'll take ten inches but only in July or maybe August. Because I know it would melt away quickly.
I don't want it this winter, so please don't backorder it!

Hello, friends.

Good news and bad news...

Good news, Tripod the three legged goat had triplets this morning. That is two sets of triplets in about 8 months. She is officially retired to Lawn Mower and Brush Clearer, once she is done weaning these little ones. She has earned her keep.

Bad news lost 3 birds to the heat yesterday. Official temp was 109 for the second day in a row. Looks like it is going to make that again today.

I was keeping an eye on which breeds tended to die in the heat. Wellsummers don't seem to do well down here in SWOK. I lost my last one yesterday (should have thrown that one in the deal, Monty). But then I also lost a RIR, a Delaware, and a Marans over the last two days. So, that blows that theory out of the water.

Ironically my three remaining monster birds from Al's stock are thriving just fine. I thought for sure as big as they are I would lose those early to the heat (lost the other 4 to it, though).

Our pond went down another foot this past week.

Hope everyone is staying cool as they can. This is California desert heat. Very dangerous, so y'all take care of yourselves.

Buster52 - so sorry about the birds you've lost, and congrats to Tripod. Yes, poor thing sounds like she's definitely earned her keep with two sets of triplets so close together. Things just seem to come in threes for her, don't they?
