Elwood - not long ago you posted about an ornery BR rooster. Do you still have him? I have one you can replace him with that isn't mean.

I do still have him, but he was wanting to placed in protective custody so he could survive to make it to a sale somewhere and I obliged him with his own quarters to stay in till then, I do need to replace him I was thinking about trying to make the Blanchard sale just not sure if I want to take any birds there in this heat.

Hi, none of my business, but you will tell the crowd he is mean if you run him thru an auction wont you please. I bought a real nice RIR bantam pair at auction a couple weeks ago and he is a man eater. I can live with it, but would have liked to know before the person sold him. Like I said, none of my business. Guy

I would tend to agree, the meaner they were the better they taste. sweet sweet revenge. Had one for a while I thought I was going to eat while he was alive he had me so mad.

Evenin yall.

Surprisingly, I haven't lost any birds yet. Knock on wood. I was mowing about 4pm yesterday and I poured a bit of Gatorade into their water. I know a lot of guys who give Gatorade to their racing pigeons this time of year too.

My OEGB got me good tonite. Had my back turned as I was banding baby roller pigeons and he came up behind me and laced me across the back of my ankles twice before I could turn around and defend myself. He usually only acts like that when I get between him and his Delaware hens. Now he does it cause its funny to him. I swear he thinks its a game. If he wasn't such a good looking rooster, I wouldn't tolerate his insolence. He will catch me in a bad way sometime.

Off to bed. Big archery tournament in Stratford tomorrow. Hope yall have a swell weekend and keep cool!

I would tell anyone that he likes to blindside you he don't seem mean really and never offers to attack untill you get comfortable around him then the split personality thing happens he's like Dr. Cackle and Mr. Chaps-my-Hide one minute he's fine then next your pealing him off your back pocket he don't keep fighting he runs after the first strike, I could put up with him but I would just rather not have to watch him the whole time I'm out with the chickens, Most of my birds (with the exception of the geese) Will come to me and mill around my feet he makes those chickens nervous and stand-offish when he does that so he needs to go, Or I could just make soup now that I have propane again LOL
