Mike i never tried soaking oats but it does make sense . i think i will try that and see how they like it. i know oats will soak up alot of water and that sure will help them in this heat , i need to get some whole oats cause all i got is crimped and i dont think they will soak in as much water..

I asked because a friend of my brothers did have one doen that way until he moved to Arizona.

If your breeding bird's to make money an wen at the show feed do's make the diff ,,,I have bot bird's that couldnt win for one guy an gave thim good feed for a yr an won with thim ..One thing for sure is that they do better on a good laying pellet or crumble if they are kept up in a pen it has every thing they need most feed's also have copper sulfate in it an it keep's down sicknes .

Ben looking in on the other state's to see wat they wer talking about an alot of thim are talking about the same thing how hot it is an about ther garden's an some are still hatching chick's out I am so glad we have this site to talk about are bird's i love reading story's about chicken's ....

GOOD MORNING OKLAHOMA........just heard on NPR that we've gone from one extreme to the other in our weather (coldest to the hottest) this year. I'm up early to water I feel so bad for the animals lost two sweet little baby bunnies yesterday. I'm starting to get depressed can't see the light at the end of the tunnel this heat is wearing me out.
