***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Well all my wife's trees she planted the last two years have died. Her garden is gone too. I also lost some shade grass I was cultivating in our front yard. I think even the Bermuda is almost all completely dead. I am going to have nothing but dirt in my yard. Well that and the sand burs seem to be doing well.

I hope my chickens and goat continue to tuff it out for however long it takes. I was especially worried about the Cochins but they seem to be OK so far. I created a chicken nipple waterer out of 4"PVC that holds an upside down 2 liter bottle. They seem to like the water cooled down.

I have been in SW Oklahoma since I got stationed here in 2001. They said we have been in a drought the whole time but this is the worst year so far. I wonder what a drought free Oklahoma looks like.

I was outside earlier and saw something out of place on the steps going into the pool. I couldn't tell what it was from a distance but as i got closer. I could see it was just a couple of lizards soaking their feet.

Girls laid a good number of eggs for me again today! They are loving these soaked oats!!!!

Now I am off to inventory my kids closets to see what all we need for school. School starts on the 11th of august. Not sure who is more excited me or the girls! They have been homeschooled for most there lives, but letting them try out real school since we are in a small town now. If it doesn't work out they can always go back to being homeschooled. I am looking forward to the quiet time & having a clean house!
