Here in the NE corner what is called the 4-state area we are getting a nice slow rain. While setting under the carport watching it rain a coyote crossed my line of vision this isn't the first time I've seen it I feel it's hanging around waiting for it's chance. I have chickens ,3 turkeys 1/2 grown,Pete,Ethel and little peeper (the peacocks )that free range I hope they stay around close. Have a good day.

been a few days since I popped on here to say HEY to my favorite peeps and peepsters... Life has us at about 8 mph right now... Not to fast ... not to slow.. ya know those Hurry up and Wait kinda things... We had to reschedule the appraiser guy for this coming Monday... there was to much on the property for me to handle at one time... we are making progress in the keep,sell,give away, toss out stage... CRAZY when we just did this back in JUNE.. but INSANE at how fast it collects if one is not careful.

A few days after the gathering up of the auction of what I thought was all the chickens... we found a few more coming out of the woods from their hiding place to join the others that decided to show them selves when we got back from the auction... Its actually nice still having a few birds around the yard to come running at you to see if you have food. Makes the property not look totally NAKED.. and who knows maybe they will be a selling point for the property and house.. ha ha ha ya know... Oh look at the cute chickens... this place is real dandy... do the chickens come with the sale? lol wouldnt that be a riot if that were to happen...

Anyhow I praise the Lord for the rain... and I hope you all have a nice rest of the day

Afternoon everyone. We are finally starting to cloud up and sprinkles starting. I got out and finished putting a rain cover over the new pen I made yesterday. Then cleaned out the feed shed. Found my rat that got loose the other day! He is a pretty hooded one. Then I had a sugar attack(diabetic). First I had had since I started taking medicine for it and it was a doosy. Feeling better now.Just made a walk around and checked all the critters before the rain starts.Glad some of you are getting wet too.
Haven't seen NaNa on today,hope they weathered the storms okay. My wifes niecs lives in Allen,Ok ,they had some mobile homes blowed over there last night.

Didn't have time to do chores and get ready to run to Edmond to babysit with one of our grandsons so Im posting late. Sure got worn out in a hurry. The drive up 66 from 177 north of Meeker to Edmond was littered with tree limbs. The Pecan farm in Luther had quite a bit of damage.

We did get some high winds that blew over a metal calf feeder and only got 3/4 inch...but for two days that's 1.25 inches so we are happy with it. Both dogs are afraid of storms so both snuck into bed with us thru the night....big babies! What's that country song "throw another log on the fire, pile another dog on the bed..." Nothing in the trap yet. The teen pen is going to need another few wheelbarrows of compost to level out some low spots.

Yes Wayne, 11 coyotes in a pack is a little intimidating. Looks like we will be carrying loaded guns in the feed truck and tractors every time we go out until the pack is reduced or eliminated. We are dropping fall calves now and fortunately these are experienced moms who stay with the herd to have their babies.

It seems I just can't win. My chicken pen that I've finally got secure got destroyed in the storm :-/ at least I know how to go about building another secure one
