never tried canning Chicken don't know that it would be any different than other meats though.

Are you going run all 50 to full age or stage the processing? I like to order 100 at a shot, process 25-30 at 2-2 1/2 weeks for cornish hens holidays and small meals, then another 25 -30 at 4 1/2 weeks for when it is small meals or soups and noodles, dumplings, and then let the rest finish at 6-7 weeks. I find you keep feeding roughly the same amount, make more space as you go and your not processing birds all day.

In 83 I went to Honduras for 6 months in the Army, We had different progams that we did for the locals around the country like immunization, clothing and food stuffs one of the things we gave out were truckloads of canned chicken LOL each can had one whole chicken in broth minus the giblets, It wasn't bad but, the oddest thing about eating it was the bones were as tender as the meat was,

Tulsa has several flea mkts, but nothing specific for poultry/livestock. And even if there were poultry, I really don't know if those would be sellers anyone could trust? I have seen poultry at flea mkts though

That Michael fellar that sales at Marys in OKC is pretty trustworthy kind of guy, as are some of the others that sale there. There is a guy that makes leather stuff, sales a few guns, collectables, chickens stuff etc that sets up there once in awhile from over around Waynoka, if he is there, you can believe anything he tells you sometimes.

He wouldn't be trying to sell me ocean front property in Montana? Or a mountain top cabin in the sahara? Now would he?

OKC swap is this sat lot's of bird's ther..N.E23 an Midwest BLV No road ucant mis it allway's lot's of BYCer's ther
Newcastle auction is on the 6th...An Blanchard is on the 10th

Michael, is it a special day or not? The last few times I was there was in...June, I think? And there weren't hardly any birds at all compared to how many I remember from a few yrs ago. There were probably 3-4 vendors that had birds. I got some Modena pigeons there awhile back and I look for them every time I go there and don't ever see any. I haven't even seen *pigeons there in years, just Doves. If there's been more birds there lately let me know and I'll have to run up there tomorrow.

In june I imagine there werent many birds due to the heat. I stopped going in the heat, but before then, I saw pigeons there pretty much everytime I went....once it cools down, it will liven back up...

Thanks! I miss livestock auctions, too, but it's just too dang hot.
You guys want to see something funny? Nail a spike in the middle of 2 boards crossed like a 'T' and spear a frozen ear of corn on the spike and set it down for your birds. They LOVE corncicles and it cools them off.

Hey, Everyone on the Okie BYC I've been in Norman fo the past week and really wanted to go to Blanchard last Sat. but wasn't sure what time it started. My daughter that lives in Norman had Gall bladder surgery and I went to be her backup. She's on the mend now so the G-daughter and I came home so she could go to the swap at Afton tomorrow with me and trade off her three barred rock
roosters (she's 9 by the way.) I'm very behind on my reading.
