***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Today of all things Teva's kitten was eating canned Peach slices with her. His favorite snack is hot-links and Doritos!

that is funny les, I never knew a cat would eat peaches. I had a dog when I was younger that would eat jalepeno's and drink jack, you could not set anything down around him.

Angela,
If you are interested I will be around most of the weekend, just let me know if you would like one or two, mitzi appears to be taking one Blue which will leave 1 black and 1 blue both are young hens. Either one will show well if the kids would like to try thier hand at that as well.

How much would you like for both? I do think showing is in the future, since both of my kids joined 4H. But I am all new to this, so I have no clue!!!

Gosh all the Cochin talk makes me want one! I've been trying to resist but if Angela doesn't take one I would love too. Just to aid in the movement of birds for a fellow BYCer

We bought a big dog crate that was used for military working dogs. Went to Ft. Riley Ks. to get it and it sure is handy. Of course it is always at home when there is a good deal found on critters!

We bought a goat at Prague and Teva just cross tied her in the bed for the trip home, as we were filling up with gas it started raining (of course) and goats hate to get wet so Teva just tarped her. When it rained she ducked her head and let the tarp slide over it, stopped raining and she would lift her head up and look around. I laughed so hard watching her I almost couldn't drive.

Someday I'll tell ya'll about the trip to Cimmarron Ks. for calves, in a minivan.

Hello NNbreeder!

These are great stories! You can't find anything this funny on the Comedy Channel!

A couple of weeks ago I had to run to Buy for Less with our school's social worker to pick up a huge order of cookies and sandwiches for the Open House. We had a good laugh thinking of how fussy the teacher is, who planned the event, and how I had hauled chickens in my red sporty Honda's trunk just the week before.

Well... hate to dissappoint you. If I take one, I will take both. I have learned that adding just ONE bird to the flock just isn't fair to that single bird. They need a buddy to help them during the pecking order phase.

Yes. Our visiting goat is still here. Would you like to have her? I've wormed her, and she's getting all the grass she can eat. I started giving her a ration of grain at night when I feed my three ladies. That was easier than standing over the group to keep her from eating from their long trough.

I would love to have her for DD, but don't think I could get dh to agree on me putting $100 worth of gas in the truck to pick up a goat, if I thought I could get away with putting her in a dog box in my van I would. Think the smell might linger a while in the van though!!! Now what I really need is a goat / sheep trailer I could pull behind my van!

DH did the happy dance when he heard there was someone interested in the visiting goat. Here's what I'm thinking... If you would like to have her and can drive a truck half way, I can meet you on I-40 near Shawnee. She will be riding in a metal transport cage. We can unload the goat, move the transport cage to the back of your truck, and then put the goat back in. Sometime before November I'll need the transport cage back, but until then you can just keep it at your place. This gets you a goat for the price of gas to go half way. She's a neat goat, but I've got my three milkers, so I really, really have not use for a fourth she goat. Here's one more option: I think I can make the trip up and back on $30.00 worth of gas, so if you'd rather not drive at all, you could have a goat delivered to you for thirty American dollars. There would be a surcharge of ice water when I get there, but beyond that, I think we'd be good.
