Welcome!
I have a 5 mo. old pullet that has layed maybe 7 or 8 eggs and has already gone broody! - she is a Cochin of course. Is there any breed more broody than Cochins?

bantam Wyandotte... and don't try to break them when they go broody or take thier eggs, if they were LF they could keep them the way they act. had some that went broody every 4-6 eggs and were going to set.

Yes. Our visiting goat is still here. Would you like to have her? I've wormed her, and she's getting all the grass she can eat. I started giving her a ration of grain at night when I feed my three ladies. That was easier than standing over the group to keep her from eating from their long trough.

I would love to have her for DD, but don't think I could get dh to agree on me putting $100 worth of gas in the truck to pick up a goat, if I thought I could get away with putting her in a dog box in my van I would. Think the smell might linger a while in the van though!!! Now what I really need is a goat / sheep trailer I could pull behind my van!

Like that is something special, I think we all have ADHD thats we have more than 1 kind of chicken...

I have only one kind of chicken so I don't have ADHD.
-That one Turken, that Old Cowboy has now, doesn't count. I kind of miss her now that I know she is a she, not a roo like I thought the whole time I had her. But no, I am still stuck on Cochins.

You still have two breeds, since the LF and Bantam are considered different breeds, you also have more than 1 variety right? I will be right one day, right after Stephanie says I can be right.

Ok, I checked with Steph, apparently I am not allowed to be right again for quite some time, I used my one time this year with her back in jan or feb, so now I have to wait..

You win MJ, you only have 1 kind of chicken. I appologize for trying to be right.

Carl, are those the Cochins you still have??? The baby I got from you is doing really good, she's wonderful.

Yep, 2 Blues and Black you want one, some or all 3? I thought Beth was coming for them but then I never heard back so if you want them they're available.

Are Cochins good egg layers? I might be interested. It would be a good field trip for my girls.

When we bought our goat at the sale, we had her in the back of our SUV.

I wish I still had the pics. It was a humorous sight. The girls in the back seat with the goat sticking her head over the seat to say hi!
