Thought I'd post an okra picture to go with the recipe.  Notice the difference in color.  The bright green of the okra changes to a darker green when it's been pickled.  Comparison of new with day old canned.  I trim the stem end of the okra so you can eat the whole thing.
		
		
	
	
		
	
A coat of paint makes the new coop look shabby chic. All it needs now is the tar paper and either cinder blocks or landscape timbers set in place. I have a pivoting board that holds the nest box lid open for getting eggs and for ventilation.
		
	
This side shows the window covers hanging on nails. I decided to make pivot cleats for the little window boards and for the door (Carl, it's now 13 x 14). The door cover has a door latch to keep it open.
		
	
And finally the 6 x 12 pen inside the dog pen has been turned to face east. With a shade cloth on top and another connecting the side of the pen to the south wall of the dog pen, there is now a 12 x 12 area of shade...noticeably cooler in the dog pen.
