I'm confused the datura is that what you are calling vining okra? And you ate it, correct? If so I'll have to do a little more research on the poisonous aspect. The datura is a nightshade. The seedpods of the datura were said to be the more poisonous parts of the plant, are you sure it was the oil that made you sick and not the pod?

No way he ate Jimson weed and was able to tell about it. I think he talked about growing it and then also mentioned the vining okra which he ate.

here are a few more pics of my silkie from coral- i think she said hatched in may, so about 4 months old- any guess on gender? she is so darn sweet, and soft as all get out!

Yea, I did more research on it eating the datura (jimson weed) really seems like a not so good idea!!!! lol lol

I have several Naked Neck starter kits available. The cool thing about NNs is that you only need a rooster and you can make more by crossing them with any other chicken.
Disclaimer: Not all of the offspring will have naked necks but about 50% will.

Had never heard of vining okra did some research, sounds interesting it is a cubirit, and allowed to get large is a gourd that makes into a sponge similar to luffa. I have never tried it obviously since I had not heard of it. Did it taste like cucumbers? or okra? The sight I read said you should peel it and stir fry. One other person also said they chopped and cooked w/ tomatoes like gumbo "esk".

I want to start keeping my eyes open for an incubator. Anyone have any good advice? The only kind I've ever used were those square styrofoam ones, but I always had pretty good luck with them. Any thoughts?

Swap or show in OKC, like a regular thing or just occasionally? And where is this Mary's swap everyone keeps talking about?

Sorry to hear about the roos Monty. That's just what happened with DS's. Shady house/pen. Knocked over water. 3-4 hrs later. Dead roo. Someone suggested heart attack for him though because the 2 hens with him were 100% fine, but DS had just put them there to get ready for testing and baths.
