Wayne,

Glad you like the Silkied Serama...they will grow on you. Don't worry that they look like they've been through the shredder. They will molt around 4 months and look entirely different. I am still showing black Silkied Serama...mostly at breed Specialty shows. I'm also working on type and leg color in some other colors...not quite ready to show them.

I'm really taking a liking to this color...they remind me of a patch of Shasta daisies.

I do love your birds!

Yippee! The best looking birds in the whole wide world are Blue Cochins! Seeing a Blue Cochin by chance at a garage sale is what sent me plunging & stumbling into the big world of chickens

I know I've told that story before but it still amazes me what an effect seeing a Blue Cochin had on me. It's like I'd never seen a bird before in my life.

Evenin' all.

Just talked with my son who is finally convinced that he needs some chickens. I'll be going up to visit with him and the grandkids in a couple of weeks, and he wants to go chicken shopping! How fun is that!

Too hot out again today to do much outside so didn't accomplish much. Did get a nice nap in though.

Sure hope no one is in the path of the fires going on around the state. Such a terrible thing for the affected families to lose everything like that.

What time and where is the Newcastle auction Saturday?

Congratulations to all the youthful winners this week!! Such dedication is wonderful!

DGibson...how many birds are you sending to the sale this weekend?

Okie...love those little piggies! And those naked alien parakeets...

Carl sounds like you need a clone of yourself.

Took some photos of some of the teens tonight. The Blue Cochins pullets and the Columbian Wyandotte pair we purchased from the Jarvis enabler. The Silver Laced Wyandotte pullet is one of those little black chipmunks we bought at Atwoods in late spring.
The Cochins and Columbian are about 4 months old. The SLW is 3.5 months old. They are all molting in the teen pen.

The girls are showing a little leg in this photo....

For a hatchery chick she has some pretty feathering.
