Are you keeping a few Delawares to have breeders left? I love my three Delaware hens and they lay a nice large brown egg with a pinkish cast.

yes im keeping enough for breeders i like my delawares , they are good egg layers and good meat birds .

There will likely be lots of BYC folks at Newcastle auction. I plan to attend and Carla and Gerald often go as well. Elwood said he will be there and Michael Daugherty will likely be there. Since it has been 2 weeks since an auction in the OKC area it should be well attended.

from what I understood from Don and a few others that were planning on attending there will be some very good well breed birds including Don's marans and delewares and a few other things. Don's birds are quite the sight he does a great job in teh breeding pen.. everyone should be proud to have the opportunity to own a bird produced by Don.

Thanks Carl .My birds are just average barn yard birds, my male birds tail feathers are nearly all missing ,they all free range, lots of pecking and fighting but its been to hot to keep them put up, i thought better no tails than dead birds .

If you decide to let some splash or blues go please let me know, the boys will appreciate them.

I thin most of everyones are that way this time of year, you coul dmake pillows with the feathers drop every day. I am hoping I have a few that still look good enough or get thier tails back before the shows really start to hit. Unfortunately it may be dec. before the nicest Columbian OE cockrell I have will be back in his tail.
