Reading abbot those who have city ordinances make me even more thankful we no longer live in Lawton city limits. In Lawton you can have 12 poultry-- what ever you like roosters - guineas- turkeys. I am sure that will change soon. BYC are becoming more popular in Lawton. 4 or 5 yrs ago I didn't know anyone with chickens in town. Now I know bunches, mostly home school families. This wk Lawton even made it against city ordnance to have a carport on a house built after 1990 since carports are not attractive. and all carports must be shingled to match you house now. If you have never been to a city council meeting you should. Sometimes it is as funny as Saturday night live. We have been before the council several times for our rent houses. The result has always been favorable, but we made sure we spoke to several council members & let them know why we were coming before the council meeting. I think it helps to go in having a few on your side.
Elwood I just shook my head as I read about your pig adventure.
Been raining slowly here almost all day. The dogs have been playing hard enjoying the mud & cool weather. Had to run to atwoods this am-- DD said we were out of game feed. Atwoods in chickasha has chicks, ducks & guineas, didnt bring any home. When I got home I saw a bag of game feed in the chicken shed.
Think I need to call now & get our propane tank filled, not sure how much is in there. Once it gets cold I want to know it is full so I will be cozy & warm. Every year we use to have rental tenants not get there gas turned on until it got real cold. Sometimes it would take a week or so for the gas company to come out & turn it on. Over the past couple of years we switched the electric stoves out for gas so they had to get the gas on sooner. Also added to lease they are required to mintain gas service year round. Such mean landlords we are.
