***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Sound like you have your day planned out. You stay so busy - sure could use some of that energy you have.

I'm still in the process of getting a new coop built for the big birds. Just got stumped on it for a few days, then got frustrated, but now I'm getting back into the swing of it. Hope to have it completed by next weekend.

Haven't decided whether or not to go to the Newcastle auction. I'd really like to. Those pulled pork sandwiches that Modernman mentioned sure sound tasty! Visiting with fellow BYCers is always fun, but sometimes I have very little self-control when seeing all the nice birds. I just can't get any more, though, until I get this coop built. Then I need to build different ones for the Serama because I DO plan to get some more of those. If I decide to go to the auction, I'll have to wear blinders, then head straight for a seat and stay there.

If I look at any birds, that's then end of it. Money flies out of my pocket.

Nana, did you get your cattle moved ok? I know what you're going through, we're in the same situation. Pretty sure a bunch of ours will be going to the sale barn soon. Totally sucks..
We had our annual local celebration this morning, complete with parade and more food trailers than one could possibly visit in one day. lol
Gonna try to squeeze in a quick nap before I have to go treat some footrot... then I'll be

and watching the game too.
Glad I'm not the only one that didn't get to go to a swap meet or sale.

Hopefully someone has ideas as to what it could be.
I LOVE the 2 new Partridge LF Cochins I got from you :)))) Their lacing is just beautiful! I'll get pictures put up showing their pretty selves.
Thank you, Robin!

Are those fang marks? or possibly a sandburr or goathead puncture that is infected? Are those little splinters?
Does it move around a little like a floating bubble or is it stationary? The color could indicate infection or blood like a blood blister...
Not sure that lancing would be the course to take. A blood blister will be reabsorbed. An infection can get bigger.
It appears to be on the side of the toe.... that may help dictate what course of treatment you take. It would be easier to bandage one toe than the whole foot.

SJarvisOO - I'm not really a sportsfan...like watching OU and OSU football with Roger. Sure hate it when he is hunting with the remote during commercial breaks.

Amy Farah Fowler - yes, we got the bull and heifers moved okay. We have all the heifers on the bottoms where there is bermuda and johnson grass as wel as a good pond. We put the bull in with the older pairs and will add 6 ready to breed heifers in with him. We are already running a float on a water tank in that pasture. Hope you got some of the much needed rains!

Upcdayz - Those pulled pork sandwiches do sound good! Don't know if I could resist pretty chickens either. The only drawback for me right now is I don't have a place to quarantine any new birds...but I could fix one really quick.

I agree it looks like some sort of injury (bite or puncture type) and probably infection. I think before I would lance I'd see if warm epsom salts soaks would help. But I don't have any experience w/ this yet.

Glad you mentioned the Epsom Salts soaking...I couldn't remember what to soak the foot in.
Where in NNBreeder when we need his advice?
Stephanie or Carl...what do you think?
