***OKIES in the BYC III ***

bfrances- I bought your EE roo, and he is in heaven. I have twelve EE hens of different colors, and had two younger cockerels of diff colors, and he went right in and fit right in. Not a sign of fighting, which was nice. One of my younger cockerels named Bard had already lost a round of fights with another roo. I liked Bard better, so he got to stay. The other one is now seperated, so it was nice how your young roo just fit right in. I like the EEs even though folks call them mutts, because you can have all different colors to look at, but still get the nice big blue eggs. They are calm birds and easy on the eye.
Sandy - Fanatical Chicken Lady from Arkansas, but an original Okie, and still an Okie at heart!

I think I have a problem. Doesn't appear to be any more coffee in my cup

Morning

I can't find the phone cable to download pictures, so I sent the photos to my husband's phone via media messaging. If he sends them back to me as e-mail attachments, I ought to be able to upload them here. Sorry this is taking so long. I rarely use my phone as a camera, so I had forgotten how many steps there are in moving the photos over to my computer (without the cable).

Storms soaked us until after midnight last night. The goats didn't want to come out of their house this morning. The chickens, on the other hand, are busy scratching and puddle stomping. I'm glad at least one group is happy.

bfrancis - I've got a couple of Barnevelder pullets who are moping around. They used to be buddies with the Blue EE roo: sharing space at the feeder and sitting close on the roost. I'm hoping that they will form an attachment to one of the Barnevelder roosters I got at the Newcastle auction. I hope the EE roo works out for you. He's a sweetie!

NanaKat-I sincerely hope your MIL does well. Please know "strangers" are pulling for her.

FanaticalChickenLady-I want an EE so bad! I love the beards

I'm going to wait til spring at this point but that's one of the birds on my Want List.
Glad you all had fun at Green Country. , the pictures are great and the one with Joe in a chicken hat was hilarious!

FaerieLady-I've loved reading your posts and hope you get chickens soon! Hope you get an 'A' on the paper.
Oh, too bad about the whole empty coffee cup thing. Where are the guys when we need refills??

Things are running amok. I just chattted with a friend on Facebook that was having the same problem. Luckily for her she has a "Coffee Man." Ironically so does my my wife!

James is still in bed asleep. He'll be asleep until about... noon. He works nights though, so he's not sleeping in

I should get my black sex link pullets from Michael this weekend if the weather's good... the car wash from last weekend (USMC ball fundraiser thing) was postponed to this weekend so hopefully the weather holds.

Morning all
Looks like we are in for another real nice day and likely week. I must admit I like these temps and humidity a bit better than what we have been experiencing.

I greatly feel for all of you who are running low on morning coffee. I fully understand that problem. I seldom function with less than 2 full pots to get the day started, then more from there. Coffee has been a staple of my diet since I was in south America and just have no real desire to change now, although teh coffee up here is not as good as it was down there.
