Hummers! I love Hummer Birds! We've got Hummingbird feeders here all summer. I wonder if they need them in the winter, too....?

More photos - not as cool as Kass' but ....

Took these this evening. The first one is a double-yolk egg that was laid by one of the pullets I got at the Newcastle auction a couple of weeks ago. The next one is a large egg she laid yesterday. Third pic is a size comparison. Poor thing. It hurts just thinking about her laying that double-yolker.


Double yolker: the camera strap got in the way in the corner, but you can see how much it weighs. It's the size of a duck egg!

Elwood I believe Blanchard sale is this wk. If so I plan on bringin a few guineas. Been working on pairing them up all day. So far think I have 8 extras -- pearl & bronze-- might have some buff dundotte too. Have several apointmets tomorrow so will continue guinea sorting Thursday. Moved 25 guineas that were paired up into a new 28ftx28ft pen. None were roosting @ dark so I went & herded them into the coop attached to the pen. The area isn't 100% finished but it is secure & we can do the finishing touches around the birds this weekend.

So love the nice weather!!!! Can't sing enough praises about it!

Ever since the doctor told me no wheat (developed an allergy), going to the grocery store takes forever.

Good news is that James is gonna help me with the kennel tomorrow. Hopefully we can get all the big parts done, leaving just roofing it. Oh, and figuring out what to use to block the back and side from wind. That northern wind is killer in the winter.
