What are you taking with you?

some guineas, frizzle chickens, a NN redish rooster, and assorted chickens that were originally acquired back in May at POOPS (including some bantams). Like everyone else, I am trying to cut my feed bill and my chore time by getting rid of some birds that are not part of my long term plans.

Free Kitten in Vian Oklahoma. My son found a small kitten at school the other day. It was in the student parking lot and he knew it was going to get ran over. He brought it home. We have had him for 2 weeks now. He is a sweet kitten. I am allergic to cats so he has to have a new home soon. I would love to keep him but don't want to put him outside here because there is a highway in front and 2 dogs in the back yard that would love to eat him.

I'm doing the same.

Sold 12 chickens to a lady yesterday. She bought: 2 Porcelain D'uccle Bantam hens, 1 Splash Polish x bantam hen, 1 White Silkie x pullet, 1 Black Tailed White Japanese hen, and 1 silver/white mixed hen. She also bought 3 Standard hens. 1 white game x, 1 Golden Laced Wyandotte x Black Sex Link hen, and a crested mix hen named Pricilla.

Hoping to sell alot of my LF hens to a couple of people...

Another Bob-Cat attack last night!! Went to feed this morning and found feathers and blood stuck to the coop and a trail of black feathers leading out into the pasture.

Lost one of my Black Aussie cockerels, and he ripped open the stomach of one of my Aussie pullets! Please keep your fingers crossed for my little baby!

Bobcats are tough to catch, we had a fox yesterday... The first loss of a bird in year or more to a wild predator. The problem is my two dogs dont see small "dogs" as a threat and leave them alone.. it took some talking coaxing, and tracking but they now understand those critters aren't welcome here either.

FaeryLady is so funny! And what an enabler she is! The Black Stars she got from Mike are way pretty, I didn't know they had rust colored lace on their necks and a purple and green sheen to their feathers-too cool. And she got some baby EE's, too-adorable! And yes, the Partridge Cochins are pretty-I love the double lacing color on them.
Mike had a pair of pure white Capuchin pigeons there that I'm literally KICKING myself for not getting. If I didn't have 5 birds in quarantine I'd have grabbed those 2. If any of you like pigeons, look them up-they're beautiful! I've looked for quite some time for a Blue Silkie girl, that's the color I wanted when I got my Silkie chicks last July but they were sold out so I got buff and whites. I told my husband he wasn't to allow me to come home with ANY bird except if I found a Blue Silkie hen. We got to the swap and there she was at the end of an aisle, I just had to get her. (She's the 5th onein quarantine) Don't you agree it was a sign straight from God?? Yea, me, too

She was in with a gorgeous Splash Silkie roo but I had to leave him behind. I've already got 7 too many Silkie roos for the Bachelor Pad. Oh yea-and I saw Jackie (Firefly) there also. I tried to interest her boyfriend in the cutest tiny black baby pigs someone was selling there.....can you believe she said no?! lol

If I can get some things accomplished around here today, I'd like to go to Newcastle this evening.

Someone will need to chain me to a seat and help me keep my hands out of the air though, because I can't get any more birds right now. There are three birds in the new "getting to know you" pen/coop now, and still have the two Seramas in the house. That means I need another home built for them, so I've got plans in the works to get a new A-frame built for them.

Here's the Blue Silkie hen I got today, she's just so sweet and pretty! I've raised my little hatchery Silkies from 2 day olds & handled them every single day and they squalllor like crazy when I pick them up. This girl is real handleable and snuggles into my arm, so adorable. She got a bath and dip and blow-dried. One could say that's probably why she's so 'calm', probably in shock lol
