Oh Michael, I love those pheasants! I researched them this past summer because I saw one at Mary's last spring and would have loved to have one. From everything I read though they don't act "pet like" like chickens do. Is that true? They're so beautiful.

They are a beautifull bird, very teritorial, can interbreed sucessfully with poultry, and are typically very poor layers.
Should ahve added very nervous and do better where they have cover to hide in.

You forgot that they have sharp needle-like spurs and they ain't afraid to use them. Usually both sexes too.

>Mental Note To Self:

Don't buy pheasants.

My dogs and chickens would've went nuts for raw meat at $5 a bag! What a deal. Minnows and crayfish are a good idea. The problem would be finding them in big enough quantities to make a difference in the chickens diet since most people have more than a few chickens. Any kind of fish is going to be super good for them. I get that cheap old Jack Mackeral in a can and mine go bonkers.

I think Coronation is a color pattern, all though I'm not sure. Sussex is a chicken breed.
I had dialup until 18 months ago, lord it was awful. In your web browser preferences just set it not to show images and the pages will load a lot faster without having to load all the images.I know it sucks not seeing the pictures but at least you can still read all the posts.

What a beautiful dog!

Thank you, MJ. He was wonderful. The Guinea birds used to lay on top of him and sleep. He'd hop up to go bark at something and the guineas would run behind him screaming at whatever he was barking at. Like they were backing him up

I would have loved to see that!

I am enjoying reading about the nutrition ideas. I just love my birds and want to feed them (and our dog and cats) what makes them most healthy and happy - probably better than how I eat.

Just minimize teh screen when your boss is walking by, they'll never know.. we miss all of you while your working.

I usually work in the admin office *by myself*. My boss (division director) travels between treatment sites and the sober living facility, and I only go to the facilities if they are shorthanded and need admin help OR to do billing on Wednesday.

So I get paid to surf the internet, talk to y'all, do my homework, that kind of thing. Maybe 2 hours of my day is actually spent WORKING... and it's broken down into small chunks.

Gosh! I'm so jealous, I often don't get a lunch and have a hard time fitting in a trip to the Lady's room!
