What I would end up doing if I ever got some is hatching them myself. It sounds like they're easily tamed down if they're handled a lot when they're young. Darn it, Michael.....now you've already got me planning another pen! I think I read it take like 2 yrs for the males to get those gorgeous colors. They'd sure look nice next to my Royal Palms......

Actually, unlike peacocks that take at least 2 years for the male to show its colors, the red golden and yellow golden pheasants will show them when they are yearlings. I have several that were hatched in 2010 and the males are showing all of their colors.

Good evening folks!

Well nuggets! In the last three days I have went from 10 cats to 12 cats. Ahh my goal to die a crazy old cat lady is well under way...

Several days ago I hear the cats making a ruckus during the night, upon investigating find a solid white cat with green eyes is using the pet door to come in for a snack and to stay warm and dry. He is shy but will let me come up to him and pet him. Today while doing chores in the yard I heard kitten meow and low-and-behold a 3 month old orange tiger strip with white was wondering around the yard. Let her in and she acts like she has lived here her whole life.

So now I have 2 dogs, 12 cats, 2 llamas, 7 turkeys, 2 peafowl and ???? chickens. My place is turning into a zoo!
