We went, and were showing, and even took the camera but didn't think it get it out for pics.
Don (Dgibson) took champion Feather leg with a bantam Buff Brahma, greg his son took champion continental.
Our boys took nearly 30 birds mostly OE and a few serama from. They did very well with Red Pyle, Brassy Back, Blue Brassy Back, Brown red, Opal and Porcelian. They Had Bv and in all RV in most the worste any of them did was 4th place. It was a long day and even longer night and day after. finnally have everything put back up.
Best of breed went to a BB Red cock bird from Hy Plains bantams of newcastle.

Any idea what it is?

hubby looked up from cutting wood and there are the ducks and geese and this guy trailing along behind them

the bantams i got from donnie were silkie/cochin mixes- Raven has them now

Thanks Robin. I was guessing silkie because of his toes but no way was I thinking Cochin! He has no fluffy in him.

Jarvis glad they did well @ the show. Think birds were in every single corner. Was surprised how full it was.

Was out fillin up some waters & snap-- the outdoor faucet broke. Water coming out of the ground by the well. So the well is off now. Dug down sent dh a pic of what broke so he can get parts to fix it tonight. Now the question is how do I keep the faucet from getting broken again. The one by the barn broke a couple of months ago too. Dh says it is broke because of the kids -- I say I want it fixed where it can't brake again. They both snapped off @ the PVC supply line. Wonder if the drought contributed in any way?

That's so sad. In cases like that I would think they NEED meat protein. I used to think people took crappy care of their dogs, then their fish-and way too many do. But the way chickens are treated takes the whole cake. I've never seen such mistreated animals as chickens. I'm past the stage in my life when I want to "save them all". But I'd sure like to put an awful lot of them out of their misery if only to end their suffering.
I saw a dozen medium eggs at WalMart are $1.28, and that's after a huge mark-up. Some poor hen is living in bad conditions (you can bet) and laying an egg every day for 12 days. All so somebody can get $1.28 after mark-up from her eggs. It doesn't make you quit eating eggs but it sure makes you quit buying them.

Kass, those are the prettiest pictures of all the garden goods! Thost pictures are good enough to go into a magazine somewhere.
Robin, I swear-you're the only person I know who has birds that drag homeless birds home with them lmao!

Your place must have a reputation for miles with birds. They all tell each other about the good food and nice handling they get there and all their friends want to show up.

I read where 1 lady will feed chicken to hers but she always tells them, "Don't worry, it's no one you know." lol

I asked my niece to take the chicken their treats. She looked in the scrap bucket & said you mean the dogs. I said no the chickens. She says but there is chicken in here! That is just wrong! Chickens shouldnt eat chicken!

Almost all of our table scraps go to the birds, that includes chicken. No birds ever complain.
