Eggcartons.com is having their FREE SHIPPING promotion through October 31. I bought all the nest box liners I will need for the next year, the last time they had a free shipping special (it saved me $45 in shipping costs) There are some things I want however, so will be checking out their catalog for things that I need to replace before winter.

Here is the information to get free shipping:

To take advantage of this special offer you must first add the items to your cart then enter the Coupon Code "Pirate" in the box that asks if you have a coupon code.

Please Note: The place to put the Coupon Code is before you click "Proceed to Checkout". It is located at the top of your shopping cart. When you add an item to your cart, you will be redirected to your shopping cart. The box to enter the coupon code is at the top of the shopping cart just above your items. You only have to enter the code once and then continue shopping or proceed to checkout. The free shipping will not apply to your order unless you enter the Coupon Code before you checkout.

Thanks for the heads' up P&B. Just out of curiosity, how often do you go through those nest box liners? I was considering them, but had no idea how many I'd need because I've got no clue about how long they last.

Well someone raised a stink about the funding issues that all the mental health & substance abuse clinics are going through... we all got letters from on high saying that they'll be "looking into it". There might be Seramas in my future after all. But first... there will be the new babies on Saturday. I am so excited!

I should be in bed but that sinus infection has settled in and my face hurts so bad that it's not funny.

Good morning everyone!

Boy is it cool out there this morning~ I am not ready for cold weather!! Not to mention that I haven't got my prep done for the birds.

Yes, Sooner it is cool out there. BUT I'm not missing all that hot weather just yet...

I love the crisp mornings and so do the dogs. They love to tussle and play and race out to the double gates. Even Red's hurting back seems to be forgotten.

The roosters have been crowing at each other in rounds this morning. Great day!

Yesterday started out really well. First thing, Vashi and I were able to guide the two adult guineas, who've been living outside since the raccon attack, into the pen with the five new adults from two different sources, and all were eager to be together! Then the little red-bellied woodpecker we hand fed for a good while swooped Vashi's head and then perched atop a light pole and talked to both of us. We'd not seen him in about two weeks, 'though we thought he was talking to us. Couldn't be sure because there are at least two other red-bellied woodpeckers that occasionally talk to us as well.

The rest of the day went just fine, too. Haven't been out yet--putting it off as it is cold and windy--but expect this one to be good.

Gearing up my thinking and plans for the show and sale in Shawnee the second weekend in December. Hope to see a lot of BYCrs there.

Really cold and damp this morning but Chanticleer and Arthur are both crowing their little hearts out.

Guess the chill isn't slowing them down as much as it is me.

Feels like I've been body slammed on the ground but hopefully after I get enough coffee down and slowly get about the pain will ease.

I have way too much winterization to get finished to be slowed down by autoimmune disease and arthritis.

I'm working on seperating the guineas and ducks from the chickens (I let them free range together) and have some ducks and chickens that don't want to come in from the horse pen...lol Crazy birds...it would be much warmer in the coop at night! Especially since they each have their own pen and coop!

Anyway, hope everyone is doing well, better get busy, catch you peeps later!

Nana I am not a cold weather person! I will freeeeeezeee this winter!

I have been enjoying sitting on the porch in the evenings more lately, but I also just enjoy when I get to sit!

Betsy, we are hoping to get to show at Shawnee too. Hopefully nothing happens to change that. Our next show will be this coming weekend with Creek Nation then Fayettville. We will be washing birds! Too bad my building isn't ready!

James hates the cold. I love it. I figure I can put on more clothes but once you get to a certain point, you don't have anything else to take off except skin. I told him there's no way I'm moving any further south. Not happenin'. He was still whining last night about the cold. I told him that the last time he whined like that, the USMC put him hip-deep in the snow at night for a night fire exercise in the middle of nowhere. I think he wanted to do this:

but I was too busy laughing at him.

Lots going on at work today. Trying to keep my head down as they figure this stuff out. Leaving at noon, James and I are taking my car to the shop on base to have new tires put on. About $140 cheaper to have it done there than offbase.
