Had a good poultry auction at Dodge City KS last Sat. Sold five pair of OEG Bantams for $40.00 a pair. They had 2 big black swans , lots of birds, horses, goats and fancy pens and cages.......

I am freezing too, I keep going out to mow the grass and keep finding reasons (some would say excuses) to go back in out of the cold! This may be the year ................................. that I freeze smooth to death!!!!! I threaten every year, but this may be it. I soooooo want to move to the equator!

My supper isn't in the crock pot, but it is on the stove, pork stew and corn bread. Smells really good.

I've been on a field trip with my 1st grader today and we froze all day in that north wind...I was ready for fall but not ready for winter and freezing yet for pity sake!

I'll just have to regroup and get out some clothes that can keep me warm because I feel like I'm living in subartic temps right now...brrrrrrrr

Anyway, had a wonderful time with the 1st graders on the field trip and at the park. Now to get busy with all the work I don't have done yet around here...

Sane I hate to hear the struggles you are having with the birds!! Hope the rest stay healthy.

We lost 13 - 6 wk old birds today. Went out to the pen, and the stray pup got into the pen with them. Killed everyone my daughter had hatched @ school for her science project. The dog will be gone soon!!!! I think the dog followed one of the kids into the pen & they didn't notice. I can't find any place it got in. So mad!!! I know they were just chicks. But seriously is frustrating!

On a better note- canned enough apple pie filling for 6 uses & made 7 pints of apple syrup. Actually ran out of sugar!!! So that stopped me from doing more. Having pancakes for dinner top with yummy apples & apple syrup! With blue & gold sausage.

I know it's "used for it" but it doesn't work for it lol People just keep using it and assuming it works for worms because "everyone else" uses it and assumes it works. But it doesn't. It's great for lice and mites though and those 2 things DO stunt growth and kill chickens.
