Remind me that it may take a little while for jelly to set in the jars.

After the crappy day and the dying chicks and all that crap, I really don't want to think that I ruined that apple juice, sugar, and pectin.

I waited a while, put the jelly jars back in the box, and put the box out in the mudroom. Forget about it for a while. I'm going to go to bed.

Michael, thanks for the tip about the guy at the swap. I'll have to check it out.

i moved all the babies and silkie moms into the big coop, so besides the 16 big guys in there, i have one cage with flo and the keets(3), and another section for noel and her EE chicks(2)- so with that many in the 10 x 10 coop, will it keep them warm enough? And the water birds sleep in the chicken run at nite, let them out in the morning, so i think we are pretty set for cold weather- i do have one little cochin sneezing, is that something i need to medicate? otherwise she is doing normal stuff-

Okla-do I seen Buckguy sat he said his net wont come back on an they have tryd every thing..An just cant aford a new puter at this time..He said to tel every one HI!!
Iv talkd with alot of the Bycer's by phone an seen thim at the swap meet an alot of thim dont have the inter net any more ..City said she has ben so bisy with her job an Teach said the same thing to ..Doc an Peach's bird's all got wipe'd out by varmit's an he retired from army an has a job she work's now at wallmart ...
I no we wouldnt have the net if it wasnt for my daughter or even dish TV ..At one time TV was free an we didnt have cell phone's or the net,,All that adds up $$$$
are net bill is like 50 for wireless an 180 for cell phone's an 30 some thing for dish .. This is the only site i ever get on just to read chicken story's an look at all the great pic's
I look at the other state's alot to on byc they talk about the same thing we do garden's hunting fishing varmit's geting the bird's an the weather...
This coming weekin is the newcastle sale an Durant auction is tonight...Hope to see some post from Durant wish Grace'sDad would take some pic's for me some time an post of the sale ....

I put black beans or re-fried beans in with taco meat & most people don't know it is there since I smash the beans. As far as coupons to--- several yrs ago I stopped carrying around a coupon binder & chasing deals-- I had enough of the basics to last several yrs& we needed NOTHING!! Now that extreme couponing is a fad I thankful I stopped since deals are few & far between now.

What I do now is focus on the coupons for things we always use. Go to eBay or a coupon clipping site & enter in something you don't have stocked up-- like snuggle. Find the best q & order 20, there is 75q right now. It is $1.99 on sale @ the px. So for $25 I will have a couple yrs worth of snuggle. Just an example--- I am still using my free snuggle from the $2 off q a couple yrs ago. Check out hotcouponworld.com--- that is where I learned the ends & outs of couponing. I was using at least $400 worth of coupons a month. It was great, but it is also a lot of work to run to the store everyday to grab a deal. The commissary is usually very coupon friendly. I would often order 60 of the same q & they would order me several cases of the item I want-- can't get that @ Walmart. Whole foods is also very affordable for gluten free products, plus they run sales.

After I finish making enough for our family swap, I will make several sets to sell when I got to swaps, sales, and shows. I missed the show at Shawnee last year, but I'm going to do my best to be there this year

There are five different snowflakes in the mold I'm using, and each has its own unique little face. I plan to glaze some all white and use colored glazes for the eyes and lips. For other sets I thought I'd do some retro patterns. Maybe I'll do some with icy pastel colors too. I need to check my glaze cabinet to see what I've got. I also have stains and acrylic paints, but I like the permanence of glaze and tend to use it more than paint.

This morning, I figured if they didn't set, I'll try to process it again in different jars etc like recommended all over the net, and if it doesn't set then, I'll put it all in a big jar and lable it "apple pancake syrup".
